INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
We’ve always been committed to providing support and guidance to our students on a very personal and individualised basis. We remain the only institution in the industry that’s able to practically prepare our graduates to pursue any career in the hospitality and events industry, and to hit the ground running when they enter the job market. Over the years we’ve developed a vast network of placement partners that consist of highly reputable industry professionals and companies we believe can offer our students the very best in practical experience.
What Students Can Expect
First Year
Students complete practical hours across a range of industry environments, including set-up and breakdown teams, service staff, hostessing, and guest experience roles. Practical training takes place within The Aleit Group businesses—including DIENS Hospitality, Laurent, Aleit Events, a|CREATE, and a|FLORAL—as well as with selected industry partners. This provides valuable exposure to different event formats, venues, and career paths while building a strong operational foundation.
Second Year
Students progress into internal job-shadowing placements across The Aleit Group’s event and hospitality businesses. During this phase, the focus shifts from event execution to the administrative, planning, and management aspects of the industry. Students gain exposure to project management, venue operations, logistics, staffing, client relations, and business administration. They also complete two short external internships to broaden their industry experience.
Third Year
In their final year, students complete two extended external internships within their chosen area of specialisation. Opportunities include event and wedding coordination, venue management, décor and furniture styling, floral design, hospitality management, marketing, photography, project management, and more. These internships provide real-world experience and often serve as a pathway to employment upon graduation.

Internships form an essential part of our accredited Diploma in Event Coordination (NQF Level 5) and play a vital role in preparing students for successful careers in the industry. We believe internships create value for both students and host organisations, providing fresh talent while offering meaningful real-world experience. To ensure the best possible fit, we carefully match students with companies based on their strengths, interests, and career aspirations.
