As we reach the halfway mark of the academic year, it is the perfect time to reflect on an exciting journey at Aleit Academy. The past six months have been filled with learning, creativity, and unforgettable experiences. Our students have embraced every opportunity to grow, both inside and outside the classroom.

From planning real-world events and developing new practical skills to gaining industry experience and building lifelong friendships, every milestone has shaped their journey. Each achievement reflects the passion, dedication, and professionalism that define the Aleit Academy experience.

In this edition, we look back at some of the highlights from the first half of the year. We also celebrate the hard work of our students as they continue preparing for exciting opportunities still to come.

Since the start of the academic year, our first-year students have stepped into the exciting world of event management. Through one of their biggest practical projects, they have gained valuable hands-on experience.

The journey began with client briefings. During these meetings, students explored each client’s vision, expectations, and event goals. They then developed creative event concepts, carefully considering themes, décor, budgets, and guest experiences.

Over the past few months, students have planned every aspect of their events. They sourced suppliers, created mood boards, and managed timelines, logistics, and event operations. As a result, they experienced the realities of delivering a successful event. Along the way, they strengthened their communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Alongside their event planning projects, our first-year students have attended a series of engaging development workshops. Each workshop was designed to support their personal and professional growth.

The Health Workshop highlighted the importance of physical and mental well-being. Students discovered how a healthy lifestyle supports academic success, personal growth, and overall wellness.

Students also participated in a practical Vinyl Workshop. Here, they developed valuable creative and technical skills for the events and décor industry. The hands-on sessions encouraged them to explore new ways of bringing creative ideas to life.

The Confidence Workshop focused on building self-assurance and strong communication skills. Through interactive activities, students learned to present themselves professionally. They also gained confidence in communicating and embracing new challenges.

To prepare for the professional world, students attended a LinkedIn Workshop. They learned how to create and optimise their LinkedIn profiles. In addition, they explored ways to build a professional online presence. The workshop also showed them how to showcase their skills, achievements, and experience. As digital networking continues to grow, these skills are more valuable than ever.

Together, these workshops form an important part of the Aleit Academy experience. They help students develop both industry knowledge and essential life skills. As a result, they are better prepared for their studies and future careers.

Our second-year students have been expanding their skills, creativity, and confidence through a variety of practical workshops. Each session provided hands-on experience, industry insight, and valuable tools for their future careers.

The Floral Workshop introduced students to the art of floral design and event styling. They also explored creativity through the Candle Workshop, where they learned to create beautiful decorative pieces. The Balloon Workshop brought colour and energy to the learning experience. Students discovered how balloon installations can transform spaces and elevate event experiences.

Meanwhile, the Visual Merchandising Workshop encouraged creative thinking around displays, branding, and presentation. Students also developed practical skills during the Vinyl Workshop. These techniques can be applied to personalised décor and event elements. The Photography Workshop introduced students to capturing professional-quality content. This is an essential skill in today’s visually driven events industry.

Students also completed a First Aid Workshop. As a result, they gained the knowledge and confidence to respond responsibly during emergencies. In addition, the Preliminary Wine Course introduced them to the fundamentals of wine knowledge and appreciation.

To support their professional development, students attended a LinkedIn Workshop. They learned how to build a strong online presence and showcase their professional profiles. The Communication Workshop further strengthened their confidence, teamwork, and communication skills. These qualities are essential for success in any career.

We are incredibly proud of our second-year students for embracing every learning opportunity. We look forward to seeing them apply these skills as they continue their journey in the events industry.

As part of their preparation for external internships, our second-year students have completed job shadowing programmes across the Aleit Group.

This experience bridges the gap between classroom learning and the professional workplace. It also provides valuable insight into the hospitality and events industries.By working alongside industry professionals, students gained first-hand experience of daily operations and workplace expectations. They also discovered the high standards required within the industry.

Throughout their placements, students observed and assisted with a variety of tasks. As a result, they developed a deeper understanding of client relationships, event execution, and business operations. They also learned from experienced professionals and gained practical knowledge beyond the classroom.

In addition, the programme exposed students to different departments and working environments. This helped them identify their strengths and explore potential career paths. It also built their confidence before beginning their external internships. Most importantly, the experience provided a clear understanding of industry expectations and workplace professionalism. These lessons will support them throughout their future careers.

The job shadowing programme is an important part of the Aleit Academy learning journey. It combines academic knowledge with meaningful real-world experience. Consequently, our students are well prepared for the next stage of their professional development.

As our students head off for a well-deserved holiday, there is a real sense of excitement for what lies ahead. When they return, our second-year students will begin one of the biggest milestones of their Aleit Academy journey. They will embark on their first industry internships.

Over the past few weeks, students have worked hard to prepare for this next chapter. They polished their CVs, attended interviews, and presented themselves professionally to prospective internship hosts. Throughout the process, they demonstrated commitment, resilience, and remarkable personal growth.

These internships will allow students to apply their knowledge in real-world environments. They will also gain valuable industry experience while building confidence and professionalism. Most importantly, they will develop practical skills that will support their future careers.

Excitement is building at The Aleit Academy as the countdown to Huisdans 2026 begins. This much-loved event is one of the biggest highlights on the student calendar.

Over the past few months, students have been preparing for the big day. At the same time, they have hosted a variety of creative fundraisers to build excitement and support their Huisdans journey. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and school spirit have been inspiring to watch.

The celebrations began with a lively Skuurdans at Catwalk. Students also welcomed the day with an energetic Coffee Rave at the Academy. The fun continued with a night of dancing at Penthouse. Popular campus favourites, including Coffee Club and Pyjama Days, added even more excitement to the calendar. These events have achieved far more than fundraising. They have strengthened friendships, encouraged collaboration, and created lasting memories. As a result, the excitement surrounding Huisdans continues to grow.

Now, as the big day draws closer, rehearsals are becoming more intense. Team spirit is stronger than ever. Students are working hard to perfect every routine and showcase their creativity on the dance floor. Huisdans is about more than competition. It celebrates passion, dedication, and the vibrant student culture that makes Aleit Academy so special.

We cannot wait to see the performances, costumes, and unforgettable moments that Huisdans 2026 will bring. One thing is certain—it is going to be a spectacular show.
