Choosing a career after school can feel overwhelming. That’s why The Aleit Academy gives high school students the opportunity to experience the events and hospitality industry before making their decision. Through our annual Winter Workshop and Job Shadowing Programme, prospective students gain valuable insight into the many career paths available within this exciting industry.

Winter Workshop | 29 June 2026

Our Creative Winter Workshop welcomed Grade 11, Grade 12, and gap-year students to The Aleit Academy campus on Lourensford Wine Estate. Throughout the day, they explored the exciting world of events and hospitality through interactive and practical experiences.

Students participated in sessions covering personal development, etiquette, professional dress, event planning, mocktail making, and creative styling. As a result, they discovered the skills, creativity, and professionalism required to succeed in the industry.

More importantly, they experienced the vibrant learning environment that makes The Aleit Academy unique. They also connected with lecturers, met current students, and gained a glimpse into life at the Academy.

Job Shadowing | 30 June – 3 July 2026 

Following the workshop, students joined our three-day Job Shadowing Programme. This immersive experience gave them a behind-the-scenes look at The Aleit Group and the many careers within the business.

Throughout the programme, students observed event planning, coordination, styling, logistics, and daily business operations. They also learned directly from experienced professionals working across the different Aleit Group entities.

The experience highlighted the wide variety of career opportunities available. From event management and hospitality to floral design, décor, marketing, and entrepreneurship, students discovered that the industry offers far more than they imagined.

Experiencing the industry first-hand helped students better understand where their interests and strengths lie. It also gave them the confidence to explore future study and career opportunities with greater clarity.

At The Aleit Academy, we believe the best way to learn about an industry is to experience it. Our Winter Workshop and Job Shadowing Programme continue to inspire the next generation of event and hospitality professionals by turning curiosity into confidence.
