Real Event Experience Every Year

At The Aleit Academy, each year is carefully designed to build confidence and real industry experience. From the very beginning, students are immersed in the world of events. As a result, they develop practical skills through work integrated learning while growing creatively and professionally.

Moreover, every year introduces new opportunities that prepare students for the next stage. From first-year pitches to final-year internships, the journey is both structured and exciting.

First Year: Stepping Into Real Event Experience

In their first year, students are introduced to event coordination through hands-on opportunities. They are divided into eight teams, each tasked with creating a polished concept. In addition, every group develops a client-ready presentation that reflects both creativity and strategy.

Moreover, these presentations encourage students to think boldly and communicate with confidence. They also learn how to respond to client needs in a professional setting.

These concepts are presented to leading schools, including Parel Vallei High School, Paarl Girls’ High School, Hoërskool Stellenbosch, and Hoërskool Durbanville. Each pitch focuses on coordinating memorable matric dance events.

Furthermore, this process introduces students to real client interaction from day one. It also allows them to experience the excitement of presenting ideas.

After careful consideration, clients select lead coordinators from the first-year groups. Consequently, strong teams are formed to execute these events. Through this, students begin their journey as confident event coordinators.

Second Year: Gaining Industry Insight

In their second year, students deepen their understanding of the industry. They complete internal job-shadowing within businesses connected to The Aleit Group. We will cover:

  • Event Coordination
  • Venue Management
  • Bar & staff management
  • Floristry
  • Décor & Styling
  • Corporate Events
  • Weddings

This experience provides valuable exposure to the events and hospitality world. Moreover, students observe professionals and learn how different departments operate.

In addition, job-shadowing helps students identify their strengths and interests. As a result, they gain clarity on potential career paths.

Third Year: Stepping Into the Industry

In their final year, students transition into professional environments through external internships. They complete two internships within organisations aligned with their interests.

These internships focus on the practical component of the course. Furthermore, students apply their skills in real industry settings.

Through strong industry partnerships, students gain meaningful experience and build valuable connections. As a result, they are well prepared for their careers after graduation.

A Year-by-Year Journey

Each year at the Aleit Academy builds on the last. Students move from learning the basics to applying their skills in real environments.

Ultimately, this journey ensures that graduates leave with both confidence and experience. They do not wait to enter the industry. Instead, they grow within it every step of the way.
