In 2009, CEO Hans Roosenschoon and the late Founder and Chairman, Aleit Swanepoel, shared a vision: to develop a new generation of event professionals who would enter the industry with more than just a qualification.

They wanted to develop people who understood service, carried themselves professionally, noticed the smallest details and consistently aimed to deliver more than what was expected of them.

And so, The Aleit Academy was born.

The Aleit name has long been synonymous with extraordinary celebrations, exceptional service and memorable experiences. Aleit built his career by bringing his unmistakable creativity, personality and attention to detail to every event he touched.

As The Aleit Academy has grown and evolved, that philosophy has remained at the heart of how we teach.

We call it The Aleit Way.

It isn’t a subject you’ll simply find in a textbook. It is a mindset woven into your studies, your practical training and your everyday experience at the Academy. It shapes how you communicate, how you serve, how you solve problems and, ultimately, how you show up in the industry.

Events and hospitality are, at their core, about people. Behind every beautiful table, perfectly timed event and unforgettable celebration is a team of people dedicated to creating an exceptional experience for someone else.

That’s why our students learn from the ground up.

From working as service staff at real events to supporting behind the scenes, practical experience teaches our students that no role is insignificant. Understanding every part of an event creates better coordinators, stronger leaders and more empathetic professionals.

A Serving Heart is also found in the little things: welcoming someone warmly, offering assistance before being asked, noticing when something is needed and going the extra mile simply because you can. At Aleit Academy, service isn’t something you switch on when a client arrives.

It’s a way of thinking.

2. Perfection

In events, the smallest details can make the biggest difference. A chair slightly out of line. A spelling error on a menu. A guest who hasn’t been attended to. A timeline that hasn’t been checked.

From the moment students begin their journey at our campus on Lourensford Wine Estate, we encourage them to look closer, think ahead and take pride in the standard of everything they produce.

That applies to setting an event just as much as it applies to writing an email, preparing a proposal, communicating with a client or presenting yourself professionally. Perfection isn’t about never making a mistake. It’s about developing the discipline to check again, care more and continually raise your own standard.
