WHAT OUR STUDENTS HAVE BEEN UP TO
A student journey recap of 2025 thus far!

At The Aleit Academy, learning goes far beyond the classroom. Our students are immersed in a dynamic blend of events, practical hours, and hands-on workshops designed to develop both industry skills and personal growth. From budgeting 101 and balloon styling to changing tires and building confidence, our workshop lineup is as diverse as it is impactful. WINTER WORKSHOP | 30 June 2025
Our recent Winter Workshop was an inspiring and empowering day filled with learning, self-discovery, and creative expression.
The day began with a dynamic Personal Development and Style Session led by Justine from Galilee Image, who guided participants through Colour Analysis and Body Shape Styling. Each attendee received a personal colour consultation to help identify tones that enhance their natural beauty. Through a Style Personality Test, the ladies gained deeper insight into their individual style preferences – an essential tool for dressing confidently and professionally in the workplace, and for making smarter shopping choices.
Next, the energy turned vibrant and hands-on during the Mocktail Workshop with David from DRINK. Participants got behind the bar to create a delicious Strawberry and Cranberry Mocktail, while also learning about cocktail equipment, bar hygiene, and stock management – a fun and informative experience with a twist of flair!
The day concluded with a beautifully creative session hosted by a|CREATE, where everyone explored the art of event styling and table design. Participants learned how to develop a cohesive event concept and apply design elements to craft a visually stunning mock table setting.
From personal style to mixology and event creativity, the Winter Workshop was a perfect blend of learning and inspiration. Thank you to all who joined us and to our amazing facilitators for making the day so memorable!
Keep an eye out for our next Winter Workshop!

JOB SHADOWING |1–3 July 2025
A Behind-the-Scenes Immersion into the World of Events
This July, The Aleit Academy proudly opened its doors to a dynamic group of students for an inspiring and immersive three-day Job Shadow Experience. From the very first warm welcome by our first-year students, to hands-on styling and floral workshops, the programme offered a holistic glimpse into the magic that powers The Aleit Group and South Africa’s vibrant events industry.
Day 1: Concept to Coordination
The journey began with a warm welcome by our first-year class, setting the tone for the days ahead. Courtney gave an insightful session on the intricacies of planning a real Aleit Events celebration, followed by a creative mood board challenge where students crafted their own visual interpretations. Chaté took the group on an engaging walk-through of the Lourensford Market planning process, concluding with a behind-the-scenes site inspection of the beloved market space. After lunch, JP shared the essential DIENS Hospitality process used at events, showcasing real documentation that highlighted the meticulous attention to detail behind flawless event execution.
Day 2: From Venues to Floral Vision
The second day began with an in-depth tour of Laurent alongside Natasha and JP, where students learned more about the client journey – from first inquiry to final booking. Jaco offered a peek into what a typical event day at the Zeitz MOCAA Ocular might look like, covering everything from early setup to the final breakdown. The day blossomed during a floral design session led by Letitia and Kelly from a|FLORAL. Students not only learned the fundamentals of floral styling in the event industry but also got to create their very own arrangements based on a real brief.
Day 3: Styling, Self-Expression & Social Media
Leandri opened the day with an inspiring introduction to a|CREATE, showcasing the art of furniture hire, styling, and curated design. The students then put their creativity to the test by building an a|CREATE Look Book that reflected their individual flair. Justine captivated the room with a session on personal styling – covering colour palettes, skincare, and dress codes tailored for confidence and professionalism in the events space. After lunch, Lindi and Lara wrapped up the programme with a dynamic discussion on The Aleit Group’s social media and marketing – diving into strategy, content creation, and the digital voice behind the brand.
This Job Shadow Period wasn’t just an experience – it was an invitation into a world where creativity meets precision, and where each detail is thoughtfully designed to bring dreams to life. We’re proud to have ignited the spark of possibility in every student who joined us, and we can’t wait to see where their journeys take them next.
