At The Aleit Academy, 2026 has kicked off with energy and excitement, and no one has felt it more than our first years from the very beginning.

From the moment they arrived, they stepped into a fast-paced, creative environment. Moreover, they quickly immersed themselves in the rhythm of hands-on learning and real-world experience.

1st Year Registration Day

Our new first-years officially stepped onto campus on 11 February to begin their journey.

To start, they were warmly greeted at the door. Thereafter, they collected their Aleit Academy goodie bag. Each bag included everything needed to begin their journey as event coordinators.

Next, students completed the necessary documentation. Following this, all details were carefully checked to ensure everything was correct.

Thereafter, they moved on to their blazer and jacket fittings. Soon after, a financial walkthrough was conducted, by The Aleit Group accounts team.

This marked the start of their digital portfolios, where they will share events, workshops, and all their memorable moments at The Aleit Academy.

Overall, the day flowed seamlessly and set a confident tone for the year ahead.

1st Year Welcome Cocktail 

The 1st Year Cocktail Event welcomed our students and their families to the beautifully renovated Laurent Venue, setting the tone for an exciting journey ahead. The evening was designed as a warm introduction to The Aleit Academy experience, bringing together the first years, their parents, and the team behind their training.

Throughout the event, a relaxed and inviting atmosphere encouraged connection and conversation, allowing everyone to mingle and get to know one another. In addition, it offered a valuable opportunity for families to meet the Academy team and gain insight into what the year ahead would hold.

Overall, the evening marked a memorable start to a journey rooted in growth, creativity, and collaboration.

1st Year Student Forum

We officially selected the first-year student forum.

This title is more than a role; it is a platform for student voices to be heard. Moreover, it encourages innovative ideas and nurtures leadership. In addition, the forum connects the class with the broader student community. As a result, every perspective helps shape the shared journey.

We are proud to announce that Anine Joubert and Minke du Plessis were chosen by their peers. Their classmates recognised their dedication, enthusiasm, and leadership potential.

Furthermore, they showed the ability to lead with integrity and creativity. Congratulations to both of them on this achievement.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make. Together, we will continue to grow and strengthen the class community.

1st & 2nd Year Buddy Social 

A night straight out of the 2000s, our first and second years brought Y2K energy to their buddy social. The theme came alive through bold outfits, throwback hits, and nostalgic details.

From iconic anthems to dramatic karaoke moments, the entertainment kept the energy high throughout the night. Moreover, the dance floor stayed full from start to finish. Low-rise vibes and playful nostalgia set the tone for the evening. In addition, friendships formed faster than Nokia text messages.

This unforgettable event was proudly planned and executed by our second-year students. Ultimately, it marked another core memory in the making for our first-year students.

1st Year DIENS Practical Training

The first-years completed their practical training with DIENS Hospitality.

From hands-on service experience to refined event details, they stepped confidently into professional hospitality. Moreover, each moment focused on precision and care. Think perfectly styled tables, seamless wine service, and polished guest interaction. In addition, they developed the quiet confidence that sets true professionals apart.

This experience marked an important step in their journey. We cannot wait to see them in action at upcoming events.

1st Year Site Visits

Real learning begins beyond the classroom. Our first-year students walked through a|CREATE and Cavalli Estate as if planning a real event.

During these visits, they explored layouts, logistics, and event flow. They also discovered the finer details that transform a space into an unforgettable experience.

Moreover, from venue assessments to behind-the-scenes insights, each moment added practical understanding. This experience was more than a visit. Instead, it marked their first step into the rhythm of the industry they are entering.

Our first-years have had a busy and full first term at The Aleit Academy. However, it has been nothing short of fun, memorable, and rewarding.

Throughout the term, they embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. From creative days to floral workshops, each experience added something new to their journey. Moreover, their energy and commitment have been evident in every moment.
