FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We present an Event Coordination Diploma on a full-time basis for a duration of three consecutive years on our campus on Lourensford Wine Estate. We also have a Compact Course in Event Coordination Support that is completely online and for a duration of 12 months.

Upon acceptance, a deposit will be required to continue the process (usually about 30% of the first year’s tuition fee). Thereafter the outstanding class fees are paid in three installments every year. Students can also opt to make a once-off payment of the entirety of their course fees and benefit from a 5% discount.

Upon request, we also offer a range of personalised payment plans to help make studying at The Aleit Academy more affordable. All payment plans are interest-free. An enrolment deposit is payable upon acceptance, after which the agreed personalised payment plan will take effect.

We are a private educational institution and only accept a maximum of 40 students per year, thus our applications close as soon as we have reached capacity for a given academic year.

Applications for the following academic year open in February, after registration of the new first year students.

We have three Open Days at our campus each year. Our Open Days usually take place in March, June & September of each year.

Students generally have lectures scheduled Tuesday to Thursday from 09h30 – 16h00. Class schedules are however dependent on industry demands and will vary for each year group.

You require a Matric Certificate, equivalent or higher-level certificate. Any industry experience will be beneficial, but is not required.

Unfortunately, as per our CATHSSETA requirements, we only accept students who have successfully completed their NSC or IPA (grade 12).

Please enter your latest available results in the application form. If you have matriculated, please attach your Matric Certificate as well as your University or other tertiary results if applicable.

We only have one campus, located on Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West, Cape Town.

Regrettably, we do not have student accommodation on Lourensford Wine Estate. Generally, our students either live in Stellenbosch or the greater Somerset West area. We have two-bedroom apartments available for Aleit Academy students. The apartments are located in The Jade, in Paardevlei precinct. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information regarding these apartments.

Students are required to bring their own meals to class as well as to work when doing practical hours. There is, however, a lovely coffee shop and restaurant on Lourensford Wine Estate that offers daily meals and a variety of food items for purchase by the students.

Unfortunately there are no public or private transport options available, and each student needs to have his/her own transport. Students should note that travel will be unavoidable after hours as most events only end late at night.

  • During the 1st year all students have to complete their compulsory 350 practical hours through the Aleit Academy and DIENS Hospitality (The Aleit Group’s Bar & Staffing company), unless otherwise specified.

  • At the end of the students’ 2nd year, they complete external placements with industry suppliers/professionals, coordinated by The Aleit Academy.
  • In the 3rd year, students do specialised external practical placements with industry suppliers, coordinated by The Aleit Academy.
